Salt Dough recipe

Salt dough is amazingly great in making 3D art and images. You can create cars, houses, food, toys, plants, flowers, and many, many more by using salt dough. The sky is the limit! Do you want to test your artistic side by playing with dough? What if you don’t have enough dough at home or at school? Well, you can now do it easily through this simple salt dough recipe. You can do this with your friends and family while having fun creating 3D art. So, read on!
What you need?
  • Plain Flour 300g
  • Salt 150g
  • Warm Water upto250ml

Measure flour and salt in a bowl and add water gradually until

mixed well. The dough should not be sticky.

Roll and cut required shapes from the dough.

The ornaments can be left to air dry for 24 to 48 hours.

Alternately, can be baked in a oven at C for 2 hours.

Let it cool completely.

Use acrylic paints to decorate the pieces and coat with any sealer.


Dough can be stored in a airtight container for few days only. Once dried, can be stored for a long time.

 Use baking sheet when rolling to prevent sticking to table
